[Maddy mad man]

I have ventured into the chat roo on a couple of occassions to find myself alone  .  Might it be a nice idea to coordinate (given the timelines) a time when we all go in and shoot the breeze together?  Really get to know each other?  Set up a fish quiz?  I dont know jus thought it would be nice to talk to some of you mad fish enthusiasts live.

We used to have some really good chat sessions on a daily basis but due to time zones,problems with the IRC server when using MIRC or java probs when connecting with the applets, llife commitments that change,,occasional conflicts etc ,its kinda dead these days,, occassionally it gets revived for a little while but nothing like it was once.

Ahhhhh the chat glory days!  I liked it when we could see who was in chat on the forum site, that was cool.  You could peruse the forum and see who was in there at any given time and join in accordingly.

Hum, chat is a ghost town....that's too bad, it used to be a blast.

Ya it used to gather quite the crowd but alas it's been silent for a long time now     About the only way it worked at one point was to make up a time and then folks would attempt to show up.

That sounded like a great idea. It must have been hard though, getting everybody together, case of our different time zones.   Who knows, maybe it will start up again someday.

I would love to chat but i post from work and basically just pop in and out of the site when i have time so sitting for an extended period chatting would be frowned upon i would think.     

I would however try to get on if the time worked.  Best time for me would be late afternoon here, 4:00pm to 5:00 pm CST.

That's pretty much how we did it before. Figured out time zone equivalents and and checked it periodically when there was likely to be someone in chat.

Unfortunatly until my kids go back to school (about 5 weeks) I cant give a definate time.. one miniute Im online, next Im off with them somewhere keeping them amused..
EG is now Im about about to leave to the beach/lagoon for a bbq breakkfast and swim with them

Hey Tony,
Can you make it so we can see who is in Chat by being on the forum?  Like is was at one time?  That is the best way, just my humble opinion, you can log in to chat, sit back and peruse the forum and see who shows up.  I have no idea the headaches this entails,  but pretty please?

I do intend to have that back but Im waiting for the next release of smf first as this version is kinda buggy. The reason i removed it was the 3rd party irc chat server had a lot of problems and was stalling the forum loading..

I like the idea of knowing who is in the chat - look forward to seeing that facility and I do think we should try to negotiate a time satisfactory to most parties regarding a meeting up there

anyway hopfully the next forum upgrade isnt too far away and more stable with mods we use...
