This might be a bad idea but we have some very wise people here and i wondered if it would be practical for open chat sessions for say twenty minutes headed by those people???  For example a 20 minute prescuduled session by any of the below on their apparent specialisms...

Still - breeding / ethics in fishkeeping

Joe - American cichlids

FNESR - africans and convicts

Gerry and Tony - oscars

Tony - disease

JC - algae and tank cycling

Tracey  - catfish and clownknives

Luke - Aussie natives

Adam - filtration / DIY

Adam and CK - saltwater

Frank - Fronts and Africans

Just thought maybe some 'live time' with the experts?  Probably isnt practical...

Food for serious thought but would have to be put on ice for the time being as far as Im concerned due to time and personal stuff. Dont let it stop anyone else wanting to organize chats like this though.

I'd be game, IF I could get chat to work for me    All I can get at the moment is a blank screen.  I can do other Knives as well as Clowns, I currently have my second BGK and have researched others a lot (LOVE knives!!!!!)

I'd be up for it, if there was enough interest in one.  I could also do a seminar/discussion on HITH if there was enough interest in that also. 

I agree though, I think the timing would be the real bitch of it, with our members spread over the entire globe, what is feasible to me, might be bed time for most everyone else.

Great to see the interest.  I figure that if someone wants that kind of input they would make the time - i certainly would.

Tracey  I singled out clown knife as an example - i know your expertise spans further in the knife area.

So where do we go frmo here people?

I think the first issue to address is getting the chat up and running.  Im not sure if I have heard whether that is on the list of things to fix, or if it was acting up and thats why it was disabled.

Without a chat we are up a creek without a proverbial paddle.

Ok well its news to me its not working for everybody so I would like a show of hands for all who cant get in via the forum script...

Possibly people have to update their java http://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp
Some people may have their java disabled or are running a software firewall that needes tuning..

anyway big show of hands please for anyone who cant use it please...

i never used to be able to get in since i got DSL but it juset let me in then

I have the newest java installed and it still doesnt work.  When it loads the chat page all I get is a "float" button at the bottom and a big blank box where the script should be loading.

I have loaded java from other websites in the past without problems, so I dont think its a firewall issue but I could be wrong about that.

The idea is a good one i think but i'll admit it would be tough for me.  I post from work so my availability will vary quite a bit and would be impossible to predict.  The only other option would be for me to come in at non work times specifically for that.
