It does sound as though time problems and environmental factors are negative influences here so what about a board or something saying whos good at what so a person would know the best person to PM?  My only concern about this secondary idea is that others - with good advice - might not get the opportunity to reply

Adam you used to be able to get in hey? I remember having chats with you on this same server,, unless you connected with a chat client like mirc or simular which people can do by the way rather than through the forum applet... Are people answering yes to the small instalation applet? it allows you to connect,,,unless you keep deleting your files cookies a lot then you need to only answer yes to this once.

To anyone having probs could they please try deleting temporay internent files, cookies, cache etc and try again..
Please tell me if you the certificate install popup and aree able to connect or not...

Yeah I used to be able to get in, but now nothing even loads.  I dont get a pop up to allow the applet to load.  Just nothing at all happens.  It loads a blank forum page with a "float" button at the bottom, but nothing every happens after that.

Ok, I've got the same problem as Adam.  All I can get is a blank page with the "Float" button at the bottom, then nothing.  I've got the latest installation of Java, cleared all my temp internet files, cookies, history etc.   :(

can you both get in via mirc or a simular irc client? (server irc.everywherechat.com port 7000 and once connected type /j worldcichlids asap so you dont get booted due to the bot protection they have)

I seem to remember Tracey(pretty sure adam too) being able to that way in the past,,,even with the axpi server days you two had probs from memory at times lol

what about a board or something saying who's good at what so a person would know the best person to PM?

I don't think thats a good idea.
This is an open forum and the best place to look for advice is on the boards, if you start looking for it from one person you might wait a while if that person goes offline  for a few days(personal problems, holidays or computer problem etc)

My only concern about this secondary idea is that others - with good advice - might not get the opportunity to reply

I think that too

PM = Personal Messages and is best kept for that

What I have done many times in the past is repost PM messages on the appropriate board that I think others might get good information from.  Obviously I get permission from whoever sent the question to begin with.  But I think thats the best way to go on the boards.

However an interactive chat would still really be interesting and I like the idea as long as we can work out the time issues.

Ok, I can log in fine using mIRC.  Wish I knew what the problem was using the Java applet though, it would be so much easier than messing around logging into mIRC and gong thru all that crap  :(  Oh well, at least I can get there now.

I have no  problems getting into the chat room ...  before Tony upgraded the forum I would have the float problem like others have now but since then no problems,  except for nobody in the chat room.
