well the one with long fins and  a bump on its head is a male ( the bumbs called a nuchal hump :)

and the other could be either, it would really help if you could post a photo of them :)

As Luke said, the one with the bump on it's head is a male, you used to be able to tell with the fin extensions and no red on the bellies of the males, but with in breeding it's not 100% now.
The females are normally smaller and more rounded with red or orange bellies and little/no fin extension's.

A photo would let us have guess O0

my guess is you have 2 males, the coloured up one is your dominant one and the faded one is the subordinate.

Fish in picture titled....covicts3 001 is definately a female. Fish in pic....covicts3 002 is most likely a male in my opinion (allthough hard to tell 100% from pictures there).

ok here is what i now of

males: huge bump, more extended on the tail part and alot bigger then females.

females: smaller then males on rare occanions theyl breed with small males but as i said its RARE ( sry for caps ) orange on stumick indicates females but males will sumtimes have orange but rare, so look for orange and smaler

if i missed nething then dont hessitate to add more
