i posted a topic a little while ago about a lady with an overstocked tamk with no heater and filter,she gave 4 of them to someone i know and he brought them down after he got them so i could possibly sex them,i immediately said that one fish was not a con but  was obviously breeding with a con because the tree babies looked like the unknown cichlid with convict stripes,i no lomger talk to this lady at all so i cant tell her its not good but i hate hows shes even giving these things away to people and trying to say they are cons.

Unfortunately, this is more common that you'd think.  Most of it happens simply because the fish have been misidentified, which is probably the case with this lady, but there are too many times that it does happen with the full knowledge of the person breeding and selling fish they know to be hybrids as pure-bred fish 

I'd suggest that you get your friend to go back to her and tell her that the fish she gave him are not what she said they were and see what she has to say to that.  It could simply be that she doesn't know she's breeding hybrids.
