IMO no...  your better off buying a bunch of smaller ones ( cheaper) and your bound to get a pair

I agree, with Luke.

I would not buy a beaten up fish, especially an adult, you don't know the age and could end up with it being a very short term pet.

$65 AUD for a pair of breeding cons!!!!!!  What a rip off.

I wouldnt pay more than twenty and in the local rag here you can buy them at an inch for $1.

Also consider that when and if you get a breeding pair they will do so like rabbits and you need an outlet for those produced otherwise you will be completely overrun.

I'll sell you a pair for $64  ;D  >:D

Nah, in all seriousness, a pair might be worth about $20-25 (aud) if they are really nice adults. Some cost needs to come into it if the fish have been grown out to adults and paired off (costs have been incured by someone keeping them that long) so $20-25 I'd consider fair allthough you could get them much cheaper. $65 is just on the rediculous side.

1 male convict + 1 female convict = a breeding pair.  Dont be dupped into paying more for what nature will give you for free.

Kind of like people who chard double for a "breeding pair" of Clown Fish... they switch sex, so all you need is two of them and you have a breeding pair regardless of their sex... same kind of scam...
