jd breeding size

how big due jds have to be to breed?  I have 3 the biggest 2 inch mabey 2 1/2 inch and was cleaning the filter out and found 4 3/4 inch fry in the bottom of the canister, 3 still alive,  I had the filter on my firemouth, convict tank about 2 to 3 months ago befor moving it to the jd tank,  whould it more likely be jd or a hybred from my convit, firemouth tank?  Will try to get a pic if i can

What do the fry look like? I would guess they are Convict fry.
Are you sure of their genders?

I have a pair of JDs, I rescued them fromt Walmart two years ago. They are pretty big now and act like they want to breed, but nothing has happened other than dancing and chasing. I think Roxy's just too dang picky about where she wants to make a nest! Pig couldn't care less, and he gets pretty frustrated with her sometimes.
Dunno if they'll ever have babies. Anyone else? If they are siblings, would that stop them? I got them in the same tank and lucked out with a male and a female. Not sure if they are related or not.
