Give the JD's plenty of hiding spaces and watch this dynamic closely.  I've never heard of a tolerant, mild mannered Buttekoferi and of all the times i've heard of someone owning one they have all said they were aggressive at a small size.  JD's simply can't stand up to one for very long.  Good luck, I hope it works out, I've heard Buttekoferi's are great fish to own and JD's are great also.

i have had butterkoferi before and from my experience  as long as the are not  the dominant fish in the tank they will be alright. i have a jd thats twice his size  and i made so he was as small as possible and plus i have plenty of hiding places. but i know once my butterkoferi get bigger all hell will break looose , so i will be replacing him in my 125 gallon still looking for possible tank mates

i do not want to but africans in the tank with the butterkoferi , yes i know the butterkoferi is african but like i said i do not want african me

the condtions that a butterkoferi as far as water temperature is is more suited for south american or central american cichlids

i previously stated i will have a 125 gallon set up by the end of the month  so i will be moving the the butterkoferi out and possibly a jack or i will get another date for the odd jack out if they pair up i just looking for tankmates for my butterkoferi in the 125 gallon

ok i am not worried about my jacks beating up on a butterkoferi , if a mated pair establish i was not putting them in my 125 galloon i was going to keep them in a 55 gallon
