thanks all, I'll keep up daily water changes and check tap water. probably won't get back to you until 7/9, got a few days off, thanks again.
This is getting expensive! I think I\\\'m gonna need a 2nd job to support my fish habit.

After 7-8 60%water changes things are where they should be. I now have an albino O, pictus cat, raphael cat and a silver dollar in the tank. thanks for all of your help, wish I'd checked the water sooner.

Obsession......... that's a pretty good word for it  ;D  It is nice to have a place where you know ppl will understand why you're so upset your fish is sick...... or go crazy with you when you buy some butt-ugly fish and go all goo goo gah gah about it (the girls at work just do NOT appreciate the beauty of my Bichir  ;))

And yeah, we're all nuts  ;) ;D

Obsession is definitely a good word for it, I'm getting withdrawal symptoms at the moment.  Really miss my water changes just now having been in the gulf for a week (temps of +45C   :o 8)).  Missus sounded proud on the phone that none of our fish were dead yet (don't know if that's a worrying attitude  :-\) after her first series of water changes although she did complain that it took her over 5 hours to do all tanks (I'm sure she'll get better with practice  ;D).

I like to think of it as a "passion"... it sounds so much less crazy then an obsession  O0

 8) Adam, I agree! 'Passionate' is an excellent word. I started out 'passionate' but somewhere along the journey it turned into 'obsession' & I just can't crank it down. CRAZY?? ...... Guilty!!!   ;) :D   "T"
