the ellioti is in a tank with another smaller ellioti  and a salvini... ive read that the salvini's can be quite aggressive!! to say the least! lol... its not a red belly salvini though, not sure which one it is.. what other types are there? and are they as aggressive?

ive noticed on the smaller ellioti that its got a few rips in its tail.. ive seen the bigger ellioti chasin it and giving it grief, but yes2day and 2day i noticed the bigger one has rips in its tail and dorsal fin aswell.. would that b the salvini??? at first it was always hiding! but now its out quite alot!!!
ive also noticed the salvini has a sex organ sticking out!!! but theres only one of them in the tank... you guys dont think it'd try and mate with the ellioti do you?

theres something about that one that says its not a salvini to me :S  probably the lack of black markings on the top sides of the fish

the aquarium place we got it from said its a salvini...

it very well could be but something about yours just doesent look right , all the salvini i have seen had black markings up near the dorsal fin

ye i see what ur saying..... it has got the markings on the top but there not very dark... its also got the markings on its head... the 4 lines across the front... the picture doesnt do it justice really,... its very bright...

if you could maybe post another pic that shows the markings ?
but i think luke could be onto something tho , theres something just not quite right for it to be a salvini but ill have a look at my books later if i get time see if i can come up with somthing

ok so why is he/her digging and making lill hills from the gravel?

and has a lill sticky out sex organ thing 

now looking at the 3 fish i have in there (from what i have posyed on this topic)

why cant they live 2geva and stop digging mountains

Cichlids all dig some just more so than others , it is probably building a nest pit just in case they get lucky and a fish off opposite sex happens to come along, it would probably still dig if it was in a tank on its own
