This is the larger of the two, approx 6" long.  The smaller (assumed fem) has totally different colouring and there's fry in the display tank. (Sorry I know very little about GTs).  The thing is I'm fairly sure that my lfs bought them in a batch of half a dozen or so.  He says he sold the rest but I remember calling in once and the damage to the other GTs was a sight to see.  There were also Synodontis in the tank who'd also been beaten up something terrible.  I guess this guy hasn't got a clue about the stock he's got if he thinks this is a Geophagus, which worries me slightly as he's going to be giving duff information to the public.

PS I bet you'll never guess which supplier I'm talking about either Alan!?  ;)

I had a pair of GT's some years ago and they spawned when the female was only 2-3" long, the male was probably 6" or so.

the mouth is totally not right for a Geo.  Its kind of amazing what stores will try to pass off to the ignorant.  Did you buy it expecting it to be an eartheater, or did you suspect it was a GT from the get go?
