Tracy when you ask is the edging of the fin white or orange, does that have something to do with sex?
I have a 3" GT and the edging of the fins are orange. What does that mean? I know nothing of GT's  ???

theres more than 1 type of GT theres the GT proper  , the Gold Saum and silver Saum its the edging on the fins that help identify between the types

Stormbringer is correct  :)

White edging on the fins = Silver Saum aka False Green Terror or Aequidens cf rivulatus

I have also heard that the average store-brought GT is also considered a Saum, the Gold Saum (also A. cf rivulatus, and not the "true" Green Terror.  The "true" Green Terror is said to be extremely rare and substantially more expensive than a Saum.
