you find that with a lot of catfish and plecs that they tend to be seasonable only available when they can be collected

They sell them here in Philly as "Porthole Cats".. very peaceful, but good Catfish. O0

My LFS also sells Porthole, which are very similar but differ in the tail area & 'seem' to be a bit shy.  As you say further on these are sometimes referred to as flagtail.

I'm going to the LFS tomorrow to get the stand for the 40gal. Will let you know what kind of cats they have. Maybe I can get a couple of them and a nice plec in addition to the 2 angels or 2 firemouths I was thinking about.We're still a couple weeks away from stocking, still looking for suggestions.
This is getting expensive! I think I\\\'m gonna need a 2nd job to support my fish habit.
