Help - updating profile

Hi... I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this question.

In trying to change my avatar, I'm getting this error message:

The attachments upload directory is not writable. Your attachment or avatar cannot be saved.

Is this a problem with the site, or something I'm doing wrong?

not sure, have you checked the size is not to big and it's the right format, jpeg, gif

thanks Gerry.  It's a jpeg but I can't find any info to suggest how big/small the avatar needs to be.  ???

I can't find it either  ???  all I can suggest is make it smaller a little at a time (saving the original at normal size) and see if it fits.

I've tried reducing several times but get the same error message.

hiya my avatar is 140x93 pixels and is 14.37 kb if that helps mate
by way whats happened to the smilleys ? well a lot of them seem to have gone ?

That error means that WC's ability to host your avatar has been turned off.  Upload your avatar somewhere else for the time being.
