Ok well the store I found doesnt carry multies (im a little surprised he doesnt since he says its an african cichlid store only). But the search is not over yet as there is still another lfs to check with. There is also the local Petco and the local Petsmart to look into. But the search wont end there if none of them carry multies cause not more then a minute from the Petco is another small lfs I could check with. So thats a total of 5 stores I can get fish at with 1 down so far for multies.

Hmmmmmmm think I have enough fish stores around? lol

Ive kept multies for quite a while now, and can honestly say they are my favourite from all the cichlids, I couldnt urge you enough to get these as they are real characters and amazing to watch getting on with life. They are quite colourful when breeding and very tolerant of each other even allowing 2 or 3 generations to share the same shells. (bye the way I find escargot shells to be ideal)......they are OLYMPIC level diggers and can get your substrate to mount everest proportions but really cute when there doing it.......heres some pics of mine
Tang tank
1 x brichardi, 2 x julies, 3 x lelupi, 2 x calvus
15 x multifasciatus, 10 x leptosoma

Saltie reef tank
1 x pyjama wrasse, 2 x clowns, 1 x banded goby
1 x firefish, 1 x Pseudochromis aldabraensis
1 x blood shrimp

Yes those are nice fish. Im guessing the pic of the one fish is a male?

Ok well the store I just recently found doesnt carry multies, as I already said, so I e-mailed the owner and asked if he is willing to do special orders on fish, and he said he has connections with many breeders and he asked what Im looking for. I told him I was looking for multies, he hasent gotten back to me yet. Im guessing that if he can find them though he will order them, since he bothered to ask what I am looking for.  O0

With that size of tank, I'd be tempted to research a low tech planted tank and keep some dwarf cichlids with a few small cats (corys). They should be easier to come across and give you more options.

Yes I have also been looking into dwarf cichlids as well. I have a book with a few cichlid breeds and have narrowed it down to a few small cichlids im looking at.

Im looking at:
Cockatoo cichlids
Keyhole cichlids
German blue rams
Kribensis

These are fust a few from book.
