Common Name:  Electric Yellow, Yellow Lab

Origin:  Lake Malawi Africa

Ecosystem:  Rift Lake

Category:  Cichlids

Suggested Care:  Easy Very Hardy fish

Temperament:  Peaceful can be territorial when spawning

Diet: Omnivore

Care:  A large tank is not required for this fish a group will do well in a
30 gal caves for hiding are very important, with a fine gravel or
sand substrate. As with all fish frequent water changes are a must
Feed a high quality flake food along with brine
shrimp as a treat

Water Conditions:  P.H 7.8 to 8.5
                          Temp 78 to 80
                          Hardness 10 to 15 dH


Tank Region: Middle to Bottom

Gender:  Males tend to be slightly larger with predominate black markings on
The pelvic and anal fins.

Size: Males 4” to 5” Females 3” to 4”

Comments:  The Yellow Lab is a must if you are planing on keeping a peaceful Malawi Cichlid Tank
The beautiful combination of yellow and black is remarkable.
The yellow lab is, as are most other rift lake Cichlids mouth brooders
And are quite easy to spawn. Just a beautiful fish to keep.
