Wow!!   Your pair is beautiful!!  :o   It's funny, but everything you said just about, I experinced with mine.  I tried Severums and they were either too passive or way to aggressive.  The Chocolates, adapted a little better, but the Chocolates go after Angels too much, so I wound up just keeping my pair with the Angels.  The Uarus never bother the Angels, unless one of them tries to start something with them. Otherwise, they act like the Angels dont exist. They are pretty mild mannered.  I only have my female now though as the male was getting extremely aggresive towards her, so I had to sell him.  I have just the 1 Uaru, with all the Angels now.  I may try adding a Geo. Surinam. or 2 instead.  I have found, what an under rated fish the Uaru is.  Very owner friendly!  ;D   The Angels are starting to get that way also, so all is good now.  O0

Hey Dan just thought I would give some info.

Geophagus Surinamensis has been a catch all name give to many geo's. G. Surinamensis, I am going from memory here so I could be off a little, only come from 3 rivers in Suriname, and also export from Suriname is very limited. And I believe for quite awhile now the area they come from is off limits to collecting. Surinamensis would more than likely be one of the rarest Geophagus you could find, and would likely pay dearly for it. Not saying they aren't out there, but I haven't heard or seen of actual Surinamensis in a long time.

Many people buy fish labelled G. Surinamensis, including myself, but the chances of them actually being that are very remote. More than likely the fish are either Geophagus Proximus or Geophagus Altifrons. Years ago it seemed to be G. Proximus and now G. Altifrons that are shipped/sold under the name of Surinamensis, both great fish if you ask me.
I bought some Surinamensis, oops I mean G. Proximus, a few years back and they are great fish. Problem was I never knew 100% for sure what they were so I ended up ditching them before I got into breeding them. I have seen G. Steindachneri sold as Surinamensis.

Good luck.

Brian

They are very underated fish,  Katt. So are Chocolates. They are very owner friendly and mine eats almost, right out of my hand.  They seem to like everything too, LOL.  ;D O0  Ive noticed too, after awhile, Angels really get to know their owner also.  O0  People might not think that about them, but it's actually true.  ;D

Yep know what you mean about the Angels.  O0

And I don`t think the Uaru`s would like liven with an Oscar, so they`ll have to wait.
