Filter Babies
« on: August 24, 2009, 05:15:49 AM »
Just finished a major maintenance on our community tank and whilst cleaning one of it's Tetratec EX700 filters, I noticed something diving down amongst the bioballs as I pulled it's tray out.

So I dumped the content into a bucket of clean tankwater and pulled the balls out bit by bit to reveal:

2 anaemic looking Bronze Corys - they are about half the size of their sibling who I thought was the sole survivor of the last spawning.  Also pulled out about a dozen shrimp from the bottom basket too !!

They're going great guns.  Kept swimming at mid to high level when they first went into the tank but coloured up quickly and they are now growing very quickly.

It's quite funny seeing them try to swim with the adults and then realise that's a bit too boisterous for them.
