All sorted. Right as rain.  Also noticed 3 baby sterbais when cleaning today.  O0

All I need to do is make sure any new water being added to the tank is a degree or two lower than the aquarium temperature and it triggers them off.  I have about 20 or so Sterbai fry that I've raised artificially by gently prizing the eggs of the glass with a pipette - I leave the ones on the plants as they're too tricky to remove without damaging the egg, so I guess the fry in the tank must have survived both the Gibbiceps and BN and it's the first time I've noticed fry surviving alone in the tank in this way.
