It's been awhile but if I remember correctly RD's are similar to a lot of cichlids.  Expect them to grow fairly rapidly, about 1/2" per month till they hit 6-7".  Then they slow down a bit.

1 EBJD (Cichlasoma Octofasciatum)
1 Salvini Cichlid (Cichlasoma/Nandopsis Salvini)
1 Royal Pleco (Panaque Nigrolineatus)
Several cory cats
1 Syndontis Catfish
numerous Giant Danio's
1 Boesmani Rainbowfish

Well got a few no Strikes I see , but right now out of room for bigger tank just before I went to 55 gal.  I had 20 gal. tall set up , brought back from Va.  my 55gal. to my home here in west Va. was at my mom,s when I lived there 6 years ago on same land near mom I have three acres .  Now married and in WV.   Maybe later I can put tank under my 55gal.  Right now 10 gal. under it has two blood parrots in it .  I love the cichlid  fishes .  Not to scare ya, had only jacks and pleco in 20 gal.

Just for your information that is way too many fish in that size tank.  A 55 is big enough for 1 adult RD and no other fish.  The tiger barbs will be lunch eventually and 4 JD's in that size tank is a bad idea as well.  Long term you will have aggression issues and water quality issues unless you are doing large water changes daily or every other day.  I'd be more worried about aggression.  RD's are known to be nasty and do not play well with others.  Once your's gets a little more mature, expect him/her to open up on the other fish.  He will rapidly outgrow the JD's and will likely kill them eventually. Hate to be the bearer of bad news.

Hey guys I believe you .  There are exceptions , until I can get larger tank for bottom shelf I hope to manage for awhile like this .  Really hate to lose my jack,s very nice looking fish .  I had auratus four inches long getting along with my other cichlids in that 20gal. tall  . I lost him when I miss read algae control treatment and put to much in tank .  Did some water cycle changes and got it straight , oh lost one african cichlid too  he was 3.5 inch also. Only because of what I done .  Now main tank is 55gal. Selling that to my sister the 20gal.  Then maybe can do something differant .
