Male Kenyi.  :)  Looks exactly like the male I used to have.

I'd agree with that  O0

Ok cool thx, your like the 4th person to suggest a male kenyi so I'm going with that. Now I need to know who his partner is, as the person who sold it to me said there was a breeding pair of lombardoi (kenyi) in there. I'll post a pic of what I'm thinking is his girl and see what you guys think.
Thanks

Ok so this is who I'm thinking is the female kenyi. As I said I'm clueless when it comes to africans so I could be wayyy off.
Thanks

Doesn't look like a female Kenyi to me, looks more like a male zebra of some sort.

When I saw the first pic I was thinking Elongatus, I was expecting more dark bands for saulosi, how about socolofi though?

Socolofi don't have barring though.  I still think it's a zebra of some type, just not sure which.

the bands may not be as dark due to stress or the fact he's not the dominant fish in the tank maybe...?

How bout this big, fat fish... this fish is second in size only to the large yellow 'kenyi' like fish I posted.

First is a male kenyi the second to me looks like an cyno afra type could be a hybrid and the second looks
like a mbuna hybrid.
Unless you get your malawis from a true breeder or a shop that sells wilds or f1 fish alot of malawis are cross breeds
and not of true type.

wassup, vinboy?!!!

WAY overbred Metriaclima complexes, or hybrids. Just look wishy-washy.
More pics from farther awy might help, also, try putting a mirror up against the glass, this will allow them to color up proper-like, and may rreveal some other clues for us to investigate.
people are like slinkys; not much good for anything but you still can\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'t help but laugh when you push them down the stairs.
