Welcome to the site, good to see a fellow MTS (multi tank syndrome) sufferer  ;D

I got both kinds of MTS, the disease and the snail( which I ship out 10 bucks a box to forum members including shipping and all winter packaging materials, 50-100 snails per bag. But yes it will be fun

This is the new DISCUS tank

my 52g FBH
( plants arent fairing well right now, I need to refil my Co2 canister somewhere, old shop quit selling paintball stuff.)

and my 40g tall guppy studio 51 well a studio 51 in the fish world anyways.

adults removed for baby sale

Here are the adults they are back in the 40g

The 40 contains some really wicked colorations for natural selection breeding.

I hope we are, I mean I want eco complete in there because its the cats meow, price is crappy but all prices suck in our hobby.

but yeah the new discus set up is why I am here.

I need a few pointers because I am set on my set up options, it will have a hang on overflow and will have a sump, now its a matter of who sells the best sump that will fit the measurement I need. I need it no wider then 30" and no deeper as in front to back then 11"
the bulbs are taken care of it came with two 30W t-8's that are being changed out for new bulbs. What size heater is needed and what temp to keep the discus at is another concern.

Like I said we are no stranger but this is our first run with discus, its been a "dream" of my fathers to have a species only discus tank and well thats what he has non his plate now, he bred fish from the mid 60's till he graduated in 75, he bred allsorts of fish and from 80ish to 1991 he had 4 tanks the smallest a 50 pentagon and the biggest a 90g texas cichlid tank(two fish fit, a 20" pleco and a 3 pound texas cichlid.)

He knows his cichlids but discus are putting him and myself into heavy research mode and well a few questions arised and thats why Im here.

Thanks for the welcomes. Its nice to appear out of the blue and have people that can converse with you at any level.

Im here to learn about new world cichs.

I keep angels now a total of 5 in a 52g FBH, 3 juves two breeding adults.

I also breed guppies for some extra scratch and food supply for the growing angels
I am setting up well I am helping my father set up a 45g tank I got for him earlier this week, its all glass' classic oak ensemble, the nice looking solid oak ones, more professional looking for his office.  We are going to stock it with only a BNP or two(thinking just 1) and 5-8 discus. discus will be 3" when we get them however we know they will outgrow the 45 and then the extra 3 will go in with the angels in a heavily planted blackwater environment.

I will post a new thread on discus questions as I have a ton.

Thanks for the welcomes in advance.
