Winter Storm power outage!

My O's water went down to 58 f, power was out for 24 hours, they set on the bottom for alongtime, thank god the power is back on, temp is working it's way up, right now it's at 66 f. The black tiger is swimming around a little now, but my albino hasn't swam yet. Wish me luck!

wishing you luck mate and hope all is ok when temps back up  O0
ps keep an eye on the water quality for spikes as you may have lost bacteria in your filters  :beer:

Things are back to normal for the O's, I tested the water, everything is fine, both are swimming around like they normally do, I guess they are unthawed! lol

Hey Chevy,

we get that alot here, I am on battery back-up and have a 4k watt gene on standby cause we get those outages about twice a week here.

You can since your water heater is off gas I presume, remove some of the old water and add 80degree water from the tap to the tank by the gallon. this will help next time, its tedious and a PITA to do in the dark but its saved my tanks quite a few times.

So glad to hear this last time it happened to me I lost almost all my fish.  :'( Power was out for 14 days in the middle of winter.
