Red devil or Midas?
« on: June 26, 2010, 07:55:23 PM »
Does anybody know of any substantial differences between a Midas and a Red Devil because some people list them as the same and some people say they are different.  I have seen no major differences in the two species so I'm starting to wonder if it even matters. :-\

If your RD or Midas is from a pet shop, rather than from a breeder who guarantees his/her bloodlines, then it is pretty safe to say that what you have is most likely a hybrid between the two species.  They are very similar in looks and colouration, and have interbred on a regular basis almost since they were first imported.

^^ Agree. Most of them bought are hybrids, a mix between the two. Some sown more midas, some show more RD. A RD is more flat with a pointy snout, a midas is more beefy with a big kok.
