picky eater
« on: December 01, 2011, 04:52:57 PM »
well i didn't have everything to use the recipes on this site, but i made up one of my own using krill shrimp, salmon, carrots, peach nectar, romaine lettuce, sweet potatoes, and pears.  put it in a blender till it was a paste, froze it over night then cut it into small squares.  taco (albino tiger oscar) loves them, but paco (red oscar) will not touch them as soon as it hits his tank he takes a small exploratory taste, spits it out and wont come near it again.  I'm going to go shopping for a couple of the recipes from on here, gonna go without feeding him for a few days and see if he will eat it then.  if this don't work i don't know how I'm gonna get veggies into his diet.
i think i need a bigger tank!

Dont give up on Paco yet.  He may just not have been hungry enough.  He may pout too but be strong and show him who is boss  ;)

he eats grapes and muskidimes, but not great.  haven't given him any in a while.  taco loves this stuff, i think its the salmon but he goes crazy for it.  soon as i can get my digi camera back ill put some pics on here.  his cysts r getting smaller too, for anyone who has been helping me on that matter.  yall got a great site here, made me feel right at home.  not alot of people i can talk about my fish without getting an empty look or a " do fish even count as a pet!".  in which i reply, mine are family!
i think i need a bigger tank!

Does he/she eat normal cichlid pellets ok? If likes them could add them into the mix so food seems more familiar maybe.

A few of mine will eat the frozen I've made, but the Uaru Who was really the one I wanted to eat it won't even look at it most of the time! I made a smaller amount with some prawns in and he seems to like this. Keep trying Though and you'll get there eventually, my old O was a fussy eater too!  O0
I am in my own little world, but it's okay, they know me here.
