Dithers will be weary of any new fish that is bigger than them until they get used to it, providing the fish isn't after them!
My pictus went through a stage of swimming after other fish but in a non aggressive way, more like out of curiosity. But they are predators and will eat smaller fish that will fit in their mouths. If the Tetras are of a decent size I wouldn't think it was the Pictus. It's possible they had a bit of a nibble once it had died though.

There is always the possibility that the tetra just got too stressed out when introducing the GT or it already had something wrong with it. I've found in the past that with most dithers if there is something not quite right with the water they tend to be the first to suffer. Do a water check and eliminate that from the list of culprits.  O0

Thanks, I did do a water check this morning and everything turned out looking good. I did notice one other Tetra with the dorsal fin nipped and still another one with the tail fin nipped off. That might be a sign of other tetras picking on each other, and then being killed by the pictus or GT in regards to the original tetra murder?
Anyways, my next step is to put a hidden camera on the tank at night and watch the culprit(s) in action...

How big are the Tetra, and how many do you have of each sex. could just be in fighting. If you aren't catching the GT doing anything in the day then you won't see him do anything in the dark either. But if Pictus are still in question then you might catch something on camera at night as they are naturally nocturnal.  :)
