Its actually not on those apllets. I have a thing called Trillian that has AOL, Yahoo, MSN, and ICQ messengers. It also has IRC. I tried that by plugging in www.cichlidfish.com as the server, and #worldcichlids as the channel. I dont know if thats how Im supposed to do it but I was just messing around with it one day and tried it out. I can get in there, just not say anything.

I think I know what your problem is ------> www.cichlidfish.com is'nt the irc server anymore (correct me if I'm wrong) it's www.axpi.com I think. If that does'nt work try the IP address 69.64.35.78 in the server name area of your chat client.

Yep. Actually, the server would be irc.aXpi.net but the IP works as well

We havent used the cichlidfish server for a long time.. Use irc.aXpi.net as the server

I don't know what happened to my pc's ability to get into chat, I downloaded the version of Java recomended, and it worked fine for a while, and in the last month it won't work at all. Any idea's to help me?

You got a software firewall? It maybe blocking it if its not set right.

My norton anti-virus picked up a worm when I downloaded the java controls from sun!Watch out Marty.

Might have been a worm hibernating on your computer somewhere and infected one of the java files. I downloaded it not long ago after installing xp and it was clean.

 Nope,I download to a saved file,then scan them.My anti-virus program found it in the file before I opened it.I recently lost my files and I don't remember what the name of the worm/virus was or I would post it.I suppose I could have picked it up somewhere between Sun and my server,but I don't know how.

I know this thread is a bit old, but, -Mike does it work with Trillion now that you have the right server or are you just using IRC by itself to go in?

Yeah, I'm still using Trillian, but it has IRC on it, so it all works out.
