UUHH OOHHH  :P   ;)   ;D

Arent they the cutest!!
Im thinking a 10 might be too small, I think the required smallest tank for them is a 20 or 25.... Even though they dont get very large, they need lots of roaming ground....

I guess it would also depend if you would be able to move her later for more room... If you decide to go ahead and put her in a 10g, be sure to give her some caves and plants, real or fake, for hiding...

Once you get her, post some pics, ok! I would love to see her!!

My mom is not to fond of the one fish in a tank idea, so is there any other fish I might possibly be able to put in the ten gallon with the pink convict???

Supposedly you can add yellow labs and they do well... I have the 3 giant danio's in there from when I was cycling the tank, and they seem to be leaving those alone, I will let ya know in a week LOL
My timid Pink is coming out more today, basically chasing the other pink, but not hurting him, so we shall see, Im keeping a close eye on them LOL

Ok so I guess I have to be the one to Disagree, but that's ok.  I'm sure ConvictKid will back me up on this one if noone else will.  A lone convict should be kept in no less than a 20 gal tank.  A pair can be kept in a 30 pretty good usually.  Never add african cichlids such as yellow labs to a tank with south american cichlids no matter what size tank they are in.  Africans require different water parameters.  Ange might be getting hooked on little 'ol pink convicts but if she ever gets a reef tank they are no turning back.  I promise you that one ;).  I used to have a bunch of cichlids....now I'm in the process of going all salties.

*salutes*

Very good, Chris. ;)

It is possabel to keep a lone convict in a 10gal, but it's not healthy for them.

20gal for one, 25-30 (bigger the better) for a pair.

thats very true however i think some exceptions can be made with convicts. many people consider cons as a feed fish, if thats not considered bad practice then slightly off water perameters could hardly be considered a huge issue. most people generally dont cater their water perameters to match the needs of their dither fish and the same principle could be applied. when kept with africans such as labs the con should be seen as a secondary fish imo. they are by far adaptable enough to stand up to water perameters that are not perfectly suited to them. its true that their ways of showing aggression and dietry needs may differ but with convicts being so common and there being so many of them out there in my veiw a con that obtains a reasonable area of tank for a territory and its share of food is a lucky one in the overall scheme of things. i do agree however that ten gallons is too small to mix anything with a con, i think that would be around a two foot tank, if i worked that out right?

I completely agree with fnesr. Did have a couple questions though:

Would you be happy living in the Artic if I gave you a parka? Or better yet if I gave you some shade and plenty of water would you enjoy living in the middle of the Sahara desert?

Just a little food for thought.  ;D
