Depends on how big the tank is, and if you have a breeding pair or not.  There are alot of things that mix well with single convicts.  And almost nothing that goes well with a breeding pair.  I would go so far as to say that nothing at all goes "well" with a breeding pair of convicts, though it can be done in larger tanks with certain types of fish.

I like to compare convicts to a female dog in heat and the male dog following right behind her.
The female is always in control and when its time to breed it doesn't really matter if they like each other or not. IMO a good full varied diet is the main ingredient to breeding convicts.
If you still have trouble raise the temp of the tank about 4 degrees and see if that doesn't help.
Convicts are very prolific and once they start breeding you should have no problems afterward.

How big is the female and how big is the male the female should always be smaller than the male if this is the case then they will get used to each other and breed just sit back and watch.

the female is an inch and the male is 2 inch. i just got the male yesterday and yesterday the red devil which is about 1 1/2 was attacking him. today he fought back and he seemed to always stay at this one corner where this flower pot is. i think he;s trying to claim property. but the female never come near him?

You need to get that red devil out he will kill every thing in the tank they are a really really bad fish to mix with any thing i found that out really quick but the female is a little small to breed right now but she should grow quick so just hold on but do get that RD out of the tank or you will have no cons at all!!!
