Hybridisation often causes numerous physical problems in fish, I think JC covered them all in another thread so I wont' repeat them here. Aside from that, it causes no end of problems with ppl being unable to identify what type of fish they have, ie the recent discussion about the "mystery fish" in the Photo Board. Sometimes this is not too much of a bad thing, when species that are similar in nature and requirements are crossed, but it can often lead to distaster when it comes to something like a blood parrot. These fish have the temper of a Red Devil, but not the "equipment" with which to deal with the trouble they get themselves into. Its all very well to pick a fight with another fish, but if you can't defend yourself.......
It can also cause a lot of ill-feeling, when ppl spend a lot of money on what they think is a purebred fish and find out they've ended up with a hybrid that is essentially useless for any breeding they might have considered and really worth only a fraction of what they paid for it.
