New Con.. & Update on the 20L

well i said i had a 20g Long cycled and i have a sand substrate in there... well tonight i picked up big male con (with a nice big hump on his head) and i guess hes in need of a wife now  ;) this will be my second pair of con here currently so lots of fry on the way  ><: ...now this big guy had a wife at the LFS but somebody bought her probably a week ago and they had fry.. if i get a new girlfriend for him he'll mate up with her or is he not going to from the loss of his mate... i may just keep him by his lonely self but most likely he will get married sometime this week or next...

anyways i'll have pics up in the photo gallery here soon... of the new stand i built, my new con, and our turtle and his "terrarium" i built a while back

oh and BTW is a sand substrate good to use with Breeding Cons???

my other cons have gravel... this is my first attempt at sand so...... suggestions??? or anyhting i should do with the tank

I would think sand or mud would be the most close replication of their wild environment. so giving them sand will probably make them very happy.

i checked on the pygmy puffers today but they were all gone..and i was sad.............................. till i seen my newest Con... ;D

BTW is he gonna be alright if i find a new female for him?? even though he was already paired up with another and had fry???

Don't worry about the cons pairing up. just get him a female and he'll be quite happy :D:

Hmmmm........... Well, usually, I go by their personality, but.....................
How 'bout Ceasar? Achiles? Something Greek/Roman, to go with that Con "attitude" and "toughness!".

what is a good name for the soon to be wife of ceasar???

Well, Brad, with Ceasar, you could go with, Daphne, Pandora, Cleopatra, Athena, Delphi, as these are all of the same origins! I am flatered that you liked the name! ;D

Those are good names! I cant wait to see pics soon too!

As for the sand, I LOVE sand!! I dont know if I will ever use gravel again lol I have found it easier for spawnings too (if they dont choose any of the surfaces you put in there) you wont loose any fry down in the gravel :D

well i am glad you are flattered.... anyways... shoot idk what i want to name the female... guess i gotta get one first  ;)  ... ceasar is about 3.5 to about 4 inches and very thick with a nice hump on his head.. just havin a hard time findin a female of decent size for him  

tell ya what... as soon as i can find the digi cam i will try and get the pics up tomorrow!!!

well yes raven pictures indeed.... if i could find that stpuid camera... i promise you i'll try my hardest to get them up tomorrow.. its a little late right now. also the con is still a little "lets sit on the bottom when the lights are on" and when they are off lets go exploring.. maybe tomorrow he'll be up to get his picture taken... Ceasar that is
