Topic: best way to catch convict fry?

ive tried netting them and sucking them up so far ive only netted 3 and sucked up 0 what is the best way to move my cons to the new tank?

How old/big are your fry? Why do you want to move them? To grow them out? Are the parents still in the tank with them?
Depending on the case, I would suggest taking all the decos out of the tank (if you haven't already done so) and trying again with the net. If they are too small, you could either purchase a fry net and try with that, or you could try making a net (like I have) with a pantyhose as the net part. Takes a little innovation, but is effective! Still, is it really necessary for you to move them at the moment?

Turkey baster    Works for me just fine.

my convicts had some more fry and the female is attacking the bigger ones about the size a pee. i have a ten gal and some friends said they would like some convicts. so far ive gotten 7 netted(ive just cornered them) 15 to go.

make a net from a coathanger/old net and stocking material if the fry is too small for a standard net.  otherwise net them using two nets or try the turkey baster method others suggested.

I'm wondering what size hose you were using to syphon the fry out
 I use a hose with about a 1/2 inch inside diameter and can get them out with no problem
The trick is to move all deco out of the way and let them settle back down
 start your syphon and move in to the fry. Gather as many as you can before they scatter and then let them settle down for the next bunch.
 It might take a little practice but, it is very easy once you get the hang of it
