Meds chart
« on: October 22, 2004, 10:41:50 AM »
After reading various posts about diseases and treatments, I thought today, that it would be useful for dumdums like me to have a readily available chart that gives the basics of measurements for things like meds (epsom salts, etc...) and aquarium salts for salt water/brackish, then Tracey (LOL) won't have to search for the links and info. We can all find it right here at "home".
Also, it would be interesting to have a forum on alternative meds/etc... maybe Adam could uh, moderate, er whatever? Dunno, just some ideas to throw about and mull over. But generally, the measurement tables would be grand! Maybe you could conglomorate them together with your tank calculator?

By the way, all you "staff" are doing a great job on this site, with all the improvements and changes, etc... I think most of us members don't really realize all the time and thought and effort it takes to have such a kickass site. Kudos to you all!  ><:  ><:  ><:

Also a weight measurement per gallon, cuz I'm sure I'm not the only one who overlooks the weight issue of aquariums.  :-\

If the tank loses water due to evaporation the salt concentraion stays the same.

This was the only minor issue I saw.  As water evaporates salt stays behind and so you have the same amount of salt in less water, meaning your salt concentrations go UP as water evaporates, not stays the same.

Otherwise looks good, mate

water weighs 8.33 pounds per gallon
(One liter of water weights   0.998 kg  - if I converted that right)

times that by gallonage and add the weight of the aqurium and decorations = total weight.
I've had a fish or two
