So anyway, for an investment of 300 bucks and the certainty of a male female pairing....I can waltz into the lfs and claim 75 bones for any young zebra plecos I have personally  bred?  Sounds like a  very good return to me.  But is it being done?

But is it being done?

Yes, it's being done.

Zebra's are one of the easiest plecos to breed in aquariums, once you get the parents settled in. They have very specific water needs and tend to be difficult to acclimate, but, if you can do it and keep them alive, fry isn't hard to get out of them.

well, ive come close to my goal. my lfs ordered my in a pseudo zebra pleco, and i got it today. its not quite the same, but im really starting to like it more than the true zebra pleco.  imo, i think it looks more like a "real" zebra than the true zebra pleco.
