Plecos, Pictus Cats, Raphael Cats or Jaguar Catfish, that are around the same size or bigger than your Oscar.  They are all excellent Catfish and great bottom feeders to have in an Oscar tank. ;D

Good bottom feeders, yes, but not good algae eaters  :-\

Considering an Oscar will see anything less than his own size as lunch at some point, you're a little limited.  Some type of Pleco would be your best bet.  I'll do a little looking around tonight and see what I can find that isn't a Bristlenose and will get big and ornery enough to cope with an Oscar  O0

Hey gerryA.  I ordered a brisltenose plec for my tank. They wont grow HUGE. he does excellent job on algae, only one O in my 75g, hasnt given him any trouble yet, only couple months in there though so real long-term I cant say.

OMG,   I breezed to fast through the thread GerryA, my fault. LOL .

Actually, Traceys'right, only larger Plecos will do for Algae.

Do you like Albinos?  Albino Gibby Plecos are really tough fish and don't take alot of stuff from Cichlids.   I have one myself and he is really aggressie when he has to be.

Just a plain Regular Pleco can be tough also, but it's a crap-shoot when buying them big.  They are like Cichlids, because you never know when your gonna get a tough one that sticks up for himself or not, so I'm afraid, you may have to experiment.

Sorry for not reading the thread carefully, LOL  :D :D

A Gibby would be a good option, especially a Sailfin Gibby like Dan suggested.  Doesn't have to be an Albino, although I'm a personal fan of them  ;)  http://www.planetcatfish.com/catelog/loricari/pterygop/148_f.php  It says they will grow to 18" but my Albino seems to have maxed out at around 12"

http://www.planetcatfish.com/catelog/loricari/pterygop/177_f.php  Another option for you.  I think Zomeslayer has one of these and I've seen pics of one other from someone on another forum.  They look like awesome fish, plus they're said to max out at around 8", maybe a little better for your tank.

I have seen my Albino Gibby cleaning the glass and driftwood of algae on a regular basis, so I know that they will eat it.  You'll need to supplement his food with algae tablets, veggies and some good, meaty foods from time to time.  They're great for cichlid tanks, nice and aggro when needed which is good for cichlids, but not ones to go out of their way to pick a fight.

All the other algae eaters that I've found are around the 4 to 5" mark, probably too small and peaceful to deal with your Oscar  :(

I managed to get Pterygoplichthys Joselimainus (L001 or sometimes called L022) the second of the links recommended.

He was quite a good price too  O0  £4.50p (about $10) for a 2" one

He scavenges quite a bit.  I feed algae pellets, bio blend bottom feeder pellets, blood worms, shrimp pellets and cucumber for my bottom feeders so i assume he takes from there what he wants.

I will get some algae growth below the substrate line after a while so i just move the gravel back from the edge of the glass to expose the algae and he usually finds it after about an hour and then works his way down the glass till it's all clean.  I don't think my royal touches algae on the glass though i have caught him sucking on the algae pellets from time to time.
