Hi,I really like the look a male BNs,but the one I picked out turned out to be a girl.I was wondering if I could get her a boyfriend, or is that not a good idea? Do BNs fight? If I do get one, do they have to be the same size? Our LFS has a tank full of males,so they tell me.Tank size is 50gal,tank mates are Sev,5 corys and a female BN.  |

Should be ok but you should provide plenty of places to hide for them. Try a cave they may even breed for you.  |

Thank you for the advice .We are going away on holiday soon,(we have a fish sitter ,so I will pick one up when we get back.)Our female hangs out in a ship, and this little boat ,lol.I will also get some caves just in case.  |

She`s nice. Not sure you know this, but then there ready to breed, the male will find a spot and chase the female into it. It`s him that look`s after the egg`s and fry. And there good farther`s. |

Thank you guys.We went to buy a male Bn from the shop,but they didn't look right.They were quite skinny,and I remember reading not to buy catfish with sunken tummies.I might go back in a couple of weeks and see how they are doing.  |

Look what I've got. He is in a second hand 30gal we got of a friend the other day.I got him yesterday, at a different shop,he's in by himself.It's a male isn't it?? It's got the fork on the bristle ? |
