Hi ya guys. I've just read that Severums MUST be kept in twos or more. Is this true?
It's just that the one I'm left with was horrible to the other of his kind, I'm not too keen on getting another and the same happening again.  Huh

I have not heard that either.  Where did you read that?

Just out of boredom I was messing about with the community creator on "think fish"... Which is crap by the way. Their "guide line stocking levels" are ridiculous. If I were to stock my tank with the amount that they say I could there would be more fish in there than water! Plus it doesn't take into consideration tank size.
Anyway, You choose Severum and it instantly adds two, so I deleted one, and then at the bottom of the page where it states any issues it said "Severums must be kept in twos or more".

Community creator doesn't consider tank SHAPE not SIZE. just thought I'd correct that.

Severums can be kept singly. If you are going to keep more than 1 Severum as a norm it is better to keep 3 or 5 unless you have a committed pair which may or may not happen. Sometimes the males can get very aggressive to the female mate and thus 2 or 3 females per male. I have raised these guys for years and that has been my experience. 3 males in a tank will not fair well as a norm. You would need at least a 6 ft tank for 3 males as these fish get 8-10 inches as a norm.
